研究テーマ
- 1Comparative Constitutional Design（2012年より）
- 18世紀以降に制定された憲法典（約900）の内容を数値化し，計量的に分析する．主に人権と統治機構の明記・非明記に注目し，1）なぜ憲法典により条文内容が違うのか，2）それには歴史・地域的要因があるのか，3）内容により制定後の「人生」（例えば寿命や改正頻度）が変わるのか，4）長寿・短命の憲法典にはメリット・デメリットがあるのか，などを研究する．
- 2The Political Economy of Deflation（2017年より）
- 日本では2000年前後から，デフレ脱却は公共財として政府政策に組み込まれてきた．だが，個人にとって，物価上昇はメリットよりデメリットの方が多い場合もあるだろう．民主主義国家の政治家にとって，国民が反対する政策は推進しにくい．このプロジェクトでは，1970年台からの世論調査と物価データを使い，1）有権者の物価に対する認識はどう形成されるのか，2）またデフレ政策はどう評価されるのか，を検証する．
