Abstract:How are social science and ethics related to each other? In recent years, social science has undergone significant changes in its methodologies, encompassing both theoretical and quantitative analysis. Ethics has also made substantial advancements in fields such as theories of equality and population ethics, based on analytical methods. Professor Iwao Hirose, known for his significant contributions to axiology and its application to public policy, will engage in a dialogue to explore the connection between social science and ethics and the potential developments in each field.
